Obituary
Clara Aleyne (Macari) Shaw, a.k.a. “Mac,” age 90, of Edwards, MO, passed away on September 5, 2020, at the Wilshire at Lakewood in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Aleyne was born on March 7, 1929, in Hume, MO, to Bert Mayo Macari and Clara Elizabeth (Lee) Macari. She married Jacob Carl Shaw on January 17, 1948. They were married for sixty-seven years. To their union two children were born.

Aleyne retired from Sears Roebuck and Company after twenty years. She was a member of the O.E.S. Golden Gate Chapter, and a member of the “busy bees” for the Deer Creek Fire Department for thirty-two years. She was a devoted wife and mother and a devout Christian. Aleyne was a member of the Colony Baptist Church, but due to illness the last several years, she attended Warsaw Christian Church and later First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit with her son.

Her family called her Aleyne, but everyone else referred to her as Mac (a nickname given to her by her husband, which was her maiden initials backwards). Aleyne enjoyed life, family, and friends. She loved the lake and boating, dancing, family gatherings, reunions, and picnics. She enjoyed working in the community. Aleyne and Carl were true soul mates, and family was especially important to them. Aleyne shared with her children that she sure had a good life!

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jacob Carl Shaw; and her brother and sister-in-law, John Mayo Macari and Juanita Macari.

Survivors include Aleyne’s children, Kenneth Shaw of Edwards, MO, and Janet (Shaw) Mohler, of Independence, MO; four grandchildren: Michael (Aimee) Mohler, Jana (Ben) Lewis, Ryan (Danice) Shaw, and Natalie (Dan) Clair; seven great-grandchildren: Abigail, Jake, Macie, Ava, Gentry, Mary, and Kensley; two nephews, Jim Mayo Macari and Mark Macari, of California; her first cousin, Helen (Lee) Gulick, who was like a sister to her; her sister-in-law, Rena Shaw; many nieces and nephews; along with many other Lee and Macari cousins.
