In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Clair County Cattleman's Association (Scholarship Fund)in memory of David Barger. Donations may be left at the funeral home.

David Lee Barger, age 58, of Rockville, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 21, 2011, at St. Johnís Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. David, the son of Don and Margie (Spoor) Barger, was born November 30, 1952, in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

David graduated from El Dorado Springs High School and went on to serve in the United States Army for the fifth training missile battalion, where he received the recognition of Expert Marksman.

On October 21, 1972, he was united in marriage to Margaret Allinson and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Bobbi and Toni. The marriage came to an end when Margaret suddenly passed away on October 9, 1992. He then married Ramona (Williams) Osborn on January 15, 1994, where he welcomed two more beautiful daughters, Jennifer and Julie.

David spent his entire life farming and tending to his cattle. He was a very active member and past president of the St. Clair County Cattlemanís Association. He also enjoyed the Partners in Pastures meetings where they would share information regarding intensive cattle grazing techniques.

David was an active member of the Community of Christ church of El Dorado Springs. He was known by all to be a patient, loving, generous man who could subtly convey words of wisdom to others. His final generous act as an organ donor will benefit many families.

Preceding David in death were Margaret Allinson Barger and his father Don Barger.

David leaves behind: his wife Ramona of the home; his mother, Margie Barger of El Dorado Springs, MO; his brother, Donald Barger and wife Pat of Panama; two daughters, Bobbi Quick and husband Danny of Lawson, MO and Toni McElwain and husband Jon of Butler, MO; two step-daughters, Jennifer Osborn of Springfield, MO and Julie Mingus and husband Jeff of Forsyth, MO; six grandchildren: Brock and Maggie Quick, Ronnie and Bradley McElwain, and Kera and Kaden Mingus; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved him.

A celebration of life service will he held on Wenesday, October 26, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, with Dave Quick officiating. The family received friends on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 6-7 p.m. Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were: Danny Quick, Jeff Mingus, Brock Quick, Jon McElwain, Travis Cook, Rick Bourland, Kaden Mingus, Bradley McElwain, Kera Mingus, Ronnie McElwain, and Maggie Quick.
