Lucille (Galloway) McCallister, age 89, of rural El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away at Community Springs Healthcare Facility Sunday afternoon October 27, 2019, following a short illness. Lucille was born September 16, 1930, in Black, TX, the youngest child of Dave Seth Galloway and Alta Mae (Moke) Galloway.
Lucille married Carl Russell McCallister on September 16, 1941. To their union, one child, Terry Lee McCallister was born. Together, they started Carl’s Gun Shop on their farm in the 1950s. After years of work, she retired from 3M in Nevada, MO. Anyone who knew Lucille knew that she loved animals, nature, living on the farm, and spending time with friends and family.
Lucille was a member of Union Hall Baptist Church, where she was saved and baptized on Easter Sunday 1996. She remained a member there until her passing.
Preceding her in death were her son, Terry McCallister; her siblings David “Jack” Galloway, Irene Jackson, Leo Lawhorn, and Richard Jesse Lawhorn; and her parents.
Survivors include her two grandchildren: Joy McCallister, and Jesse McCallister and wife Erica; and three great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Chilton, and Eliana McCallister; and a host of other extended family members in Missouri and Kansas.
Visitation will be held on November 1, 2019, from 10-11:00 a.m. at Union Hall Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 with Bro. Don Barger officiating.
