Rachel Louise (Benham) Lasley, age 76, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away Thursday morning, August 22, 2019, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO, after complications from a fall. Louise was born January 24, 1943, at El Dorado Springs, the daughter of Earl M. and Rachel L. (Hertzberg) Benham. Louise started school at White Hall Country School and completed her education at El Dorado Springs School graduating in 1961.
Louise lived her entire life in the El Dorado Springs area. She was saved October 8, 1956, and joined Hazel Dell Missionary Baptist Church on October 13, 1956, where she was a member at her death.
Louise started working at Brownsberger's Department Store after graduation. She held several other jobs during her life. Her last and most favorite job was at Simone’s Drive Inn where she was famous for her amazing cherry limeades.
Louise was married and had two children, Christi Marie and Michael Gene. She was always there for her family. Whenever she was needed, she would drop what she was doing to help her grandkids and great grandkids. She loved going to cookouts and holiday dinners at her son and daughter-in-law's house. It was a very special time for her last Christmas that she spent with Michael and his whole family. She loved calling her family numerous times during the day just to check in to see how they were doing.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Christi Sutton, and her parents. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kim Lasley; grandchildren: Heath and Kaitlyn Sutton, Jared Sutton and Kalynn Perrodin, Emily Sutton, Mandi and Joel Stephens, Seth Sutton and Kelsey, Michaela and Josh Menego, Courtney Lasley and J. R. Marshall, Lane Lasley, Lindsay Lasley, Justin Lasley and Melissa Lasley; great-grandchildren: Kamden and Khonor Sutton, Caysen, Kale, Charli, and Kole Stephens, Maverick Sutton, Aubrey Sworde, Gabe and Laiklynn Menego, Tyson Marshall, and Stetson Sutton due in October; sister, Rosalyn and Jerry Chambers; and nephews, Alan and Becky Collins and David Collins.
Funeral services for Louise Lasley were held on August 26, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Bro. Alan Collins and Bro. Ralph Benham officiating. Interment followed at Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Heath Sutton, Jared Sutton, Josh Menego, J. R. Marshall, Lane Lasley, and Troy Nicholas. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Koca, Lance Carriker, and Justin Lasley.
