Robert Dee Stroer, Sr, age 72, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, at his home with family by his side. Bob was born October 23, 1946, in Stockton, MO, to Robert L. Stroer and Doris Stroer Troutman. Bob is the oldest of nine children. Bob was born on the farm home of R.P. and Mini Rowland, parents of Doris Stroer Troutman.
Bob spent his younger years at Filley, MO, before moving with the family to Wichita, KS, and attended school there. Bob met and married Brinda Montgomery in 1966 and to this union two children were born, Robert D. Stroer, Jr. on October 11, 1971 and Tina Earl (Stroer) Smith on April 11, 1973.
In Bobís early years he was on the rodeo circuit with Jimmy Cash. Bob loved to go fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and friends. He enjoyed going to the local rodeos until his health prevented him. He also loved to be around his children and his grandkids and great-grandkids. Bob was a member of the Masons of Wichita, KS.
Bob worked for Witt Engineering before getting into Law Enforcement, where he worked for the City of El Dorado and then moved to Cedar County as Chief Deputy. He farmed for several years before going to work of the City of El Dorado Street Dept., and then moved up to be the Building Code Inspector. Later he would be seen driving the taxi until he retired in 2003.
In November of 2009 Bob married Tanya Ellison.
Preceding Bob in death were his parents, Robert L. Stroer and Doris Stroer Troutman; a sister, Mitzi Cash; and an infant brother, Brock Stroer at birth.
Survivors include his wife, Tanya Stroer of the home; one son, J.R. (Jean) Stroer; one daughter, Tina (Pete) Smith, all of El Dorado Springs; siblings: Pasty (Bob) Greenstreet of El Dorado Springs, Ronnie Stroer of El Dorado, KS, Debora (J.W.) Hurt and Louis (Lisa) Stroer of Overland Park, KS, Trenda Stroer Franklin and Tracey (Deana) Stroer of Wichita, KS; grandchildren: Tyler (Jolene) Stroer, Kellsea (Nick) Spiker, Zack Smith and fiance Kelsey Penn, Kaylee Smith, all of El Dorado Springs; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Treysyn Spiker; and numerous nieces and nephews from El Dorado Springs, MO to El Dorado, KS, and other states.
Final disposition was cremation under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
