Naomi Jeanne Phinney, age 87, of rural El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 13th, 2019, at the Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton, Missouri.
Jeanne (pronounced Jeannie) was born on February 27, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri. She is the daughter of Frank Randolph Rozzel and Ora May (Smith) Rozzel.
Jeanne was raised in the El Dorado Springs area, where she met and married James C Phinney on February 18, 1949. Jeanne and James had two children, a daughter, Diana and a son James (Jim).
Jeanne and James moved to Des Moines, Iowa and raised their two children there. Jeanne was a wife and mother.
Jeanne was a member of Coon Creek Baptist Church in Collins, Missouri.
After James retired, he and Jeanne built a house and moved home to rural El Dorado Springs, Missouri. James and Jeanne were married for 69 years.
Jeanne loved to cook, garden and quilt. Her quilts are beautiful. She loved her family and friends.
Preceding Jeanne in death were her husband, James, her parents, and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana J (Phinney) Dorow and husband Rick of Yellville, Arkansas; one son, James M Phinney and wife Laurie of Eldon, Missouri; one grandson, Jacob Phinney and wife Megan of Eldon, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved as her children.
