Dotty Jean (Morehouse) Berry, age 79, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away in the early morning hours on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Dotty was born August 10, 1939, in Lebanon, Missouri, the daughter of L. Dow Morehouse and Dora (Warren) Morehouse. She attended Lebanon High School where she graduated.
Dotty married Dewain C. Berry on November 22, 1958, in Lebanon. They were married 49 years before his passing on September 15, 2008. To their union three children were born: Gene, Mike, and Shelia.
They started their family in Lebanon but moved several times during their life together, eventually settling in El Dorado Springs where they remained. Dewain and Dotty attended the El Dorado Springs Church of the Nazarene for many years.
Dotty was dedicated to her family and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved having the children around her, always trying to make lasting memories for them to treasure. Her priority was to make sure they went to Sunday School. Later in her life when Dotty's health was failing, she would still pick the great-grandkids up and take them to Sunday School.
She had a passion for children often working in the church nursery and teaching Sunday School. She also enjoyed going to craft shows.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Dewain; her parents; and three sisters: Virginia (infant), Valeeta Mizer and Laveeta Mizer.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Berry and wife Lori of Walker, MO, and Mike Berry and wife Audrey of Grove, OK; daughter Shelia Miles and husband Earl of Springfield, IL; grandchildren: Trenton and Heather Berry and family, Clinton and Belinda Berry and family, Jamie and Joe Day and family, Brittany and Andy Wendt and family, Devin Fastdog and children, and Thomas Miles; and 16 great-grandchildren.
