Marjorie Mae (Jones) Smith, age 95, of Bolivar, Missouri, formerly of El Dorado Springs, passed away May 14, 2019. She was born August 11, 1923, in Wyandotte County, KS, to Herman and Flora (Harris) Jones. In 1926, she moved to Missouri with her parents and two brothers.
In 1951, she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at Little Blue Baptist Church and was baptized in the Little Blue River near Independence, MO.
Marjorie worked her entire life in Kansas City, including 25 years for the IRS, doing accounting and tax payers service. She retired on December 31, 1983. She was a member of the National Association of Federal and Retired Employees.
Preceding Marjorie in death were: her parents, Herman “Sac River” and Flora Jones; her husband, Emmit J. Smith; two brothers, Walter Jones and Herman Harris Jones and wife, Leta; one sister, Edna Wyatt; two brothers-in-law, Earl “Buster” Moore and Ray Wyatt; and one nephew, Frank Evans.
Survivors include: one brother, Clyde Jones and wife, Bonnie, of El Dorado Springs, MO; one sister, Mildred Moore of El Dorado Springs, MO; three nieces: Evelyn Evans, Shirley Mauck, and Pam Wallace; and three nephews: Glen Jones, Leon Jones, and Cleon Jones.
