Billy E. Nading, Jr., age 71, passed away November 24, 2018, surrounded by family at KU Medical Center after a short illness. He was born September 26, 1947, in Oswego, Kansas, to Bill Nading, Sr., and Mary (Marshall) Nading.

Captain “Jethro” Nading retired from the Kansas City Fire Department on December 31, 1999, after 29 years of distinguished service. He was a man of faith and charity who had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and was active in the church his entire life. He was known by many names, but “Papa” was the most heartfelt. He enjoyed traveling with his entire family, from fishing trips with his sons and friends, to Disney World with his children and grandchildren, to cruises and tropical vacations with his wife and children. He was a mentor and a father to countless people. His loss is deeply felt by not only his biological family, but also by the extended family he created wherever he went.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Georgia Nading; two children and their wives, Steven and Carey Nading and Chad and Jennifer Nading; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and his brother, Nick Nading.

Visitation will be held at Eagle Creek Church in Lee’s Summit, MO on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. A celebration of life service will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Matt Harris officiating. A graveside service will be held at Clintonville Cemetery in El Dorado Springs, MO, at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
