Leola Ann (McCullick) Downer, age 65, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018. Leola was born September 8, 1952, on her familyís farm in rural Cedar County, Missouri, the daughter of Leo McCullick and Joann (Hardy) McCullick. Leola graduated from Ft. Scott Christian School in Ft. Scott, Kansas.

Leola married Wayne Downer on January 8, 1971, in El Dorado Springs. They lived in Port Lavaca, Texas, during the first years of their marriage, where their only child, Bryan, was born. Leola remembered fondly her early years growing up on her fatherís dairy farm and relished her time spent living on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas. Leola loved being outside, enjoying the sun and outdoor activities, and spent many great years with her husband, Wayne, and son, Bryan, boating and camping.

Leola was a life long member of the Church of God (Holiness) where she enjoyed singing and playing piano as a teenager. Leola worked for Mid-America Dairymen in El Dorado Springs for 21 years and enjoyed volunteering her time when she was able. Sharing a love of cars with her husband, she enjoyed organizing car shows and other activities as a member of community service organizations.

She is survived by her parents, Leo and Joann (Hardy) McCullick of El Dorado Springs; her husband Wayne Downer, also of El Dorado Springs; son, Bryan Downer and his wife Jennifer (McNish) Downer; three grandchildren, Keilei, Nathaniel, and Alexis, all of Springfield, Missouri; her brother, Jerry McCullick, his wife Julie (Lloyd) McCullick of El Dorado Springs; two nephews, Jeremy McCullick and his wife Jami (Carpenter) McCullick of El Dorado Springs; Luke McCullick of El Dorado Springs; and her niece, Megan (McCullick) Biddlecome and her husband Jason Biddlecome of Warrensburg, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God (Holiness). The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Joe Trussell will officiate and the Greathouse Singers will provide music. Burial will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are: Jeremy McCullick, Luke McCullick, Jason Biddlecome, Brian Smith, Ron Zartman, and Chris Wilson.
