Lina Lou (Carroll) Allen, age 89, of Butler, MO, passed away on April 7, 2017, at Medical Lodge in Butler, MO. She was born October 29, 1927, west of Adrian, MO, to Charles O. Carroll, Sr. and Eva Helen (O’Dea) Carroll. She was the 3rd of eight children.

Lina Lou attended grade school at Mound Valley, Hess, and Buckhorn, graduating the 8th grade. She then attended Adrian High School and graduated in 1945. She started working at Sears & Roebuck, Co. in Kansas City, MO, in 1946. She met Virgil Allen there and they were married on May 6, 1947, by Bro. Roy Groves. They were members of the Assembly of God Church all their married lives until their passing. They loved to travel and went to many states. They both retired from Sears in 1977, built a new home in El Dorado Springs, and moved there so they could take care of Virgil’s mother, Belle Allen. After Virgil passed away in 1998, she moved to Butler to be close to her family.

Lina Lou had many hobbies, including quilting, tatting, knitting, crocheting, and making rugs. She liked to play games and loved music, even taught lessons at one time. She loved flowers, had several flower gardens, had a vegetable garden and canned the extra produce.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Ruby Coraetta Johnson and Jessie Paxton, and one brother, Bobbie Joe Carroll.

Survivors include four siblings: Charles Carroll and wife Louise, Marjorie Craig, Thomas Carroll and wife Dora, and Wanda Wainscott and husband Ross; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Lina Lou Allen will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Pastor Dana Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
