Judy Kaye (Yockey) Cornell, age 59, of El Dorado Springs, MO passed away at her home on Monday, February 8, 2016. Judy was born September 13, 1956, in El Dorado Springs, MO, the daughter of Robert and Nellie Yockey. Judy graduated from Fort Scott Christian Heights. She worked at Dunbrooke, Woods Supermarket and 3M.

Judy married her high school sweetheart, Robert Lee Cornell on September 20, 1974. They were married 41 years. After seven years of marriage their first son, Justin was born and two years later they had a second son, Darren.

Judy was a hard worker and put her family first in everything she did. She was a proud MeMaw who lived for her four grandchildren. She was a selfless woman with a great sense of humor.

Judy and Bobby are members of Blue Ridge Church of God (Holiness) where they enjoyed singing hymns together for special music. Judy loved having all of her family together, and cooking her signature dishes. Christmas was one of her favorite holidays as it allowed her to spoil her grandbabies. When Judy did take time for herself she enjoyed reading, listening to Southern Gospel music and staying connected with friends and family.

Judy faced various health issues but she never let her condition slow her down. She was driven to be a loyal employee and would show up for work even doing hours of overtime. If there was a potluck at church she made multiple dishes to make sure there was enough food for everyone. She was faithful in acknowledging birthdays, anniversaries and holidays by mailing cards and would always include something extra special inside. In fact, before she passed she already had purchased a Valentine card for each grandchild. She was very generous and showed her grandchildren the importance of saving by giving them some money every time she saw them for their piggy banks.

Preceding Judy in death was her mom, Nellie.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby; her son Justin and his wife Jackie, their children Kaylee and Ean of Columbia, MO; her son Darren and his wife Jamie, their children, Elijah and Gabriel of Groton, CT; her father, Robert Yockey of El Dorado Springs; her brother Jerry Yockey and his wife Betty Jean of Bolivar, MO.

Gleason Brooks officiated. Burial followed in Clintonville Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
