Michael Kent Hackleman, age 56, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away January 7, 2016, at Citizen’s Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, MO. He was born February 17, 1959, in Nevada, MO, to Clarence “Hack” and Janie Hackleman.

Mike was a 1977 graduate of El Dorado Springs High School. He also graduated from the University of Missouri and was a member of the Acadia Fraternity, serving as president for two years.

Mike resided in El Dorado Springs the majority of his life, working with his family managing the Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home and owning Park Place. He was very active in the community, serving on the Cedar County Memorial Hospital Board. He also resided in Dallas, TX, serving as head of sales at J. Crew and then spent time with his two children, Lance and Layne, in Pensacola Beach, Florida, before returning to El Dorado Springs.

Mike’s greatest joy was spending time with his children. He enjoyed actively participating in their activities and was proud of all their accomplishments. He also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and reading. He especially loved the Christmas holiday season and his time spent at Park Place creating home décor for others to enjoy.

Survivors include his parents: Clarence and Janie Hackleman of El Dorado Springs, MO; two children: Lance Hackleman of Pensacola, FL, and Layne Hackleman of Pensacola, FL; brother, Kirk Hackleman of El Dorado Springs, MO, and sons Taylor Hackleman and wife Taylor of Fort Riley, KS, and Trey Hackleman of El Dorado Springs, MO; brother, Todd Hackleman and wife Christy of Mulvane, KS, and children, Reed and Tatum.

Funeral services for Mike Hackleman were held on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the El Dorado Springs Church of God (Holiness) with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Burial followed in Hackleman Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Bill Neale, Randy E. Bland, Steve Banks, Dennis Gilbert, Howard Gilpin and Dick Humphry.
