Roy Lee Lasley, age 69, of El Dorado Springs, MO, left this life April 12, 2015. He was born June 18, 1945, to Irvin and Nellie (Garrett) Lasley.

After graduation he went to work for the International Shoe Company. That is where he met the love of his life Velva Ann Sallee. After marriage he was drafted into the army. He was stationed in Korea as a military police officer. After returning home to Velva, they had two children: Troy and Angela.

Throughout Roy’s life he enjoyed fishing, card playing, planting tomatoes and coyote hunting. His handle on the CB was “Power Pack.” He loved and did all of these activities to the fullest.

The one thing he was most proud of was his kids and grandkids. He felt his home was their home.

Roy found salvation with the Lord. He was a member of the West Union Missionary Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Irvin and Nellie Lasley; brother, Nelson Lasley; two sisters: Minnie Foreman and Janice Fast; and father-in-law, Alden Sallee.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Velva; son, Troy Lasley and wife Angel; daughter Angela Smith; grandsons, Clayton Sanderson and Colton Sanderson and wife Taylor, and Auston Smith; great-grandson Easton Eli Sanderson; one sister, Nina Harris and husband John; sister-in-law, Judy Lasley; mother-in-law, Betty Sallee; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Roy Lasley will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Benham officiating. Burial will follow in Virgil City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
