Linda Sue Hicks, age 63, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014, after a long illness. Linda was born to Clarence Hicks and Ruth Hicks on June 21, 1951 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

Linda graduated from high school, and later worked for Rest Haven Nursing Home for many years. She enjoyed her work and loved caring and visiting with the people living there. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and watched their games on television as often as possible. She also was a collector of Cubs team memorabilia. Linda loved music, game shows, books, and cartoons.

She was baptized as a young girl and attended the Church of Christ as long as her health permitted. Linda was a little ornery and loved to kid around with her friends. She always looked forward to being with her classmates and friends at her class reunions at El Dorado Springs School.

Linda was preceded in death by her dad, Clarence Hicks.

She is survived by her mother, Ruth Scott, of Bentonville, Arkansas; her mom, Donna Hicks, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; two brothers: Jim Hicks and wife, Patty, of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Carl Swager and wife, Jessie, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; two sisters: Sharon Weber and husband, Earl, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Teresa Simpson and husband, Jerry, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Linda Hicks were held on Monday, July 14, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with David Studer and W.L. Studer officiating. Burial followed in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Jim Hicks, Carl Swager, Jerry Simpson, Derrick Swager, Cody Simpson, Walt Anderson, Steve Wiseman, and Joe Barger.
