Glenna Fern Wackerly, age 86, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, departed on January 9, 2014, after an extended illness. She was born August 26, 1927, in Sandtown, Arkansas, to Ernest Edward and Maudie Beautric (Matheny) Ross.
She was a member of the Filley Christian Church. She worked at Luzierís Cosmetics, a division of Proctor & Gamble in Kansas City, MO, before retiring to El Dorado Springs in 1981 to become a full time farmerís wife, mother & grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 56 years, Nolan F. Wackerly, and her mother and stepfather, Maudie & Pete Gordon.
She is survived by her son, Charles Wackerly of the home; two granddaughters, Tabitha Wackerly of Olathe, KS and Melissa James of Beaverton, OR ; three great grandsons, Alex and Max Metrokotsas and Nolan James; an aunt, Lenelle Matheny, and cousin, Claudie Davis of St Louis, MO; and special nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Glenna Fern Wackerly will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Howard McPeak and Steve Counts will officiate. Deanna Johnston and Claudine Pope will provide music. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are: Bill Shinn, Greg Girven, Sam Eaves, Denny Whitesell, J.R. Stroer, and Pete Smith.
