In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to help with expenses and left at the funeral home.
Lester Allen Pennell, age 54, of Weaubleau, Missouri, passed away on Friday night, November 8, 2013. He was born March 13, 1959, in Lamar, MO, to Harold and Pat Pennell.
For the past several years he had lived in Weaubleau with his significant other of close to twenty years, Brenda Parsons, and their son Joey. Lester had been fighting a brave battle with cancer for two and a half years. He was very close to his family and spent time with them as much as possible. He was a loving person and always left you laughing no matter how bad he was feeling. His life was not easy but he never gave up.
Lester loved to play horseshoes, and enjoyed barbeques and family gatherings, even when he was very sick.
Preceding him in death were his step-son Luke Medford and a nephew Gary Danner.
Survivors include his companion of twenty years, Brenda Parsons, of the home; his parents: Harold (Nick) Pennell of Osceola, MO, and Pat Pennell of Tiffin, MO; children: Joey of the home; TJ, Trisha, Nick, Billy, and Duran of the Kansas City area; several step-children including: Tesla, Chad, Crystal, Christopher, and Matt; numerous grandchildren; two sisters: Lisa Pennell of Tiffin, MO, and Tammy Elliott of Osceola, MO, and husband Earl, who was Lesterís best friend; nieces and nephews include Robyn Sanning of Nevada, MO, and Ashley Sanning and children of Sheldon, MO; six great-nieces; and many friends in this general area.
Funeral services for Lester Pennell will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Rev. Greg Magnum will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
