Edward Alexander Brehm of Ahwahnee, California, passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 95 in the home of his son, Daniel, and daughter-in-law, Glenda, in Schell City, Missouri.
Edward lived the bulk of his life in Sanger, Fresno and Ahwahnee, California, each of which were located near Yosemite or Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Most of the last two years of his life were spent at the Bungalows, in Nevada, Missouri.
Edward spent his childhood on the family vineyard near Sanger, California, and graduated from Sanger High School in 1944. He then served in the United States Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor near the end of World War II. After the war, he went to 4-Cs Business College in Fresno, California, where he met his wife, Dora. They married on August 31, 1949.
Edward worked for Safeway Stores in Fresno, California, for 36 years. He started out as bag boy and became a store manager during his career. Throughout his retirement years, he became active in selling vitamins for NeoLife and developed his 10-acre property in the picturesque, rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Ahwahnee, California.
Above all else, Edward loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he loved to read Godís Word. He also loved hard work. He was always working and keeping busy. He enjoyed people, and was devoted to sharing the Gospel of the Kingdom with anyone who would listen.
His other interests included: Member of the Kiwanis Club International, Member of Toastmasters, Member of the National Rifle Association, Life Member of National Health Federation, woodworking and cabinet building, auto mechanic work with his two sons and deer hunting with his sons and friends.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Louise (Constance) Brehm; his eldest son, David Brehm; his sister, Minnie (Brehm) MacElroy; and his sister, Shirley (Brehm) Contente. He is survived by his dear wife, Dora (Simmons) Brehm; his son, Daniel Brehm, and wife, Glenda; and his sister, Lorrayne (Brehm) Minor.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Greenlawn Cemetary near Schell City, Missouri.
