JT Jackson (John Thomas) of El Dorado Springs, MO, was born on January 28, 1936, and passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

JT was the son of William A. and Alba (Masters) Jackson and graduated from El Dorado Springs R II Schools. Soon after, he went into the family business of running the Western Auto store, now Jackson’s Hardware. Before the big box stores, Western Auto was the source for most items needed by the community including tires, auto parts, chain saws, fishing equipment, tools, nuts & bolts, hardware, bicycles and parts, tricycles, wagons, peddle cars, all kinds of toys including dolls, games, and tonka trucks, most kitchen items, appliances, guns, ammunition, hunting & fishing licenses, lawn mowers, tillers, and all garden supplies including tools, gardens seeds and seed plants. They wrapped Christmas and birthday presents of all shapes and sizes and offered layaway for Christmas as well. Many Moms & Dads came in on Christmas eve to pick up their family’s (and Santa’s) presents. JT enjoyed raising cattle near Caplinger Mills, talking about the weather, and all Bulldog sports. He was a frequent spectator to local contests as well as many playoff games and matches. JT also was a volunteer firefighter and helped fight many fires around El Dorado Springs.

Preceding JT in death were his parents, Alba and Bill, his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Claude Appleberry, and their daughter, his niece, Sheryl Ann Moore.

JT’s survivors include his daughters and their spouses, Debbie and Jerome Sally of Columbia, MO, Jan and Jeff Foresee of McKinney, TX, his four granddaughters, Megan Foresee Strickland & Josh of Brisbane, Australia, Micah Sally Sax & Brian of Kansas City, Alyssa Foresee Vaughn & Jared of Birmingham, AL, and Raysha Bryann Sally of Kansas City, his four great-grandchildren, Graham Wayne and Lucas Patrick Strickland, and Vivian Jean and Theodore Lee Vaughn along with aunts, cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends.
