Obituary
Delores Ann Johnson of Springfield MO passed on April 5, 2021. She was born June 21, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to Herbert and Nancy (Baum) Nolen.

Delores grew up in and around the Jackson County area being the first graduating class of the new, at that time, Lee’s Summit High School in 1953. She attended Kansas City Business School learning the skills of an Administrative Assistant. She worked, in Independence, MO for Allis Chalmers for 31 years. During that time, she met and married her husband William F. Johnson. Delores was devoted to her family, loved being a grandmother, and celebrated 62 years of marriage with the love of her life. Over the years she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, word search puzzles, baking, planting flowers, garage sales, and had an enormous passion for reading and collecting books. Delores and her husband were introduced to the Schell City, MO area 50 years ago, while camping, and in retirement years they decided to call it home. Delores was known for always appearing in public wearing a color coordinated outfit, matching earrings, belt and handbag; a casual fashionista for her time. She never met a stranger, she was a friend to everyone, and loved by all. She also had a life-long love for all animals. Her love was, and is, shared by her devoted daughter Stacey. She prided herself on her chocolate sheet cake, cherry cobbler, her work ethic, and if coaxed would share a story or two about her own youthful years. She had a wonderful sense of humor that her son is still trying to match.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband William Floyd Johnson, brother William Nolen and his wife Bonnie, son Ron and partner Christopher Tanner, daughter Stacey and husband Jeremy English, and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Trevor, and Elizabeth.
