Obituary
Paul Eugene Gooden, age 54 of Lamar, Mo. passed away on March 18, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Paul was born on January 16, 1967 to James Austin Gooden and Mary Karleena Blackmon Gooden.

Paul enjoyed the outdoors and spent many hours hunting and fishing. The story of Larry and Paul spoonbilling has been told like this many times “Larry was casting out when he hit Paul in the back of the head with an 8 ounce sinker knocking him completely out cold. Larry rushed him to the hospital in 15 minutes and Paul had to have 12 stitches”. Paul was always ready to go with anyone to the river or to go deer hunting. He really enjoyed it when Johnny Dedrick would come over and go fishing with him or just go out to eat.

Paul worked at O’Sullivans and Thorco for many years, also worked at Allison Tires in El Dorado Springs, Mo. In later years he mowed yards on the side.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents; 2 brothers Larry Gooden and Sam Gooden; 3 sisters: Linda, Rose and Becky.

Survivors include a son Colby Fiala and grandson Oakley; Stepson Nate Fiala; 2 brothers Dusty Pennington of Nevada, Mo.and Homer Gooden of Montevallo, Mo. ; 3 sisters Ruth Woods of Nevada, Mo; Laura Cook of Montevallo, Mo and Pam Shipp of El Dorado Springs, Mo.
