Lance Krymel Hays, age 69, of rural Schell City, Missouri, passed away with his wife by his side on January 25, 2021. He was born in Fresno, California, on January 11, 1952, to Edith Christina Westman and Destral Bert Hays. His family made their home in Fresno and the surrounding area.
Lance attended Fresno schools and graduated from McLane High School in 1970. He attended some college, then worked in the construction field until settling into a position at Yosemite High School as the Supervisor of Custodial Services. He retired in 2007, but continued to work wherever his interests led until 2020.
Lance loved martial arts and pursued it for many years along with Kody and friends. He completed his 2nd degree black belt.
Lance loved camping with his family in Yosemite for many years and cruising the Caribbean Islands. He even built a home on the Big Island of Hawaii. In 2014 he and Lynn took an amazing trip to Europe with their whole family.
Lance loved his family and always felt that it was his duty to care for his mother and Lynnís mother when they reached the point that they needed to be taken care of. Both of them lived with Lance and Lynn during their final years.
Lance and Lynn were married just short of forty years, and he was the loving father of Kody (Michelle) and Jenny (Larry) Dunckley, the proud grandfather of Jesse (Kiera) Dunckley, Madison Dunckley, and Isla Hays, and the proud great-grandfather of Jameson Dunckley. He is also survived by nephew, Wesley Hays, and nieces, Leanne Hays and Alana Hays.
Preceding Lance in death were his father, Destal; his mother, Edith; and brothers, Bryan and Kevin Hays.
