Obituary
Allena Marie (Nance) Brasher, age 71, of Jerico Springs/Sheldon, MO, was surrounded by her loving family as she moved to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Allena was born on August 3, 1947, in Hepler, Kansas, to Clint and Minnie (Hunt) Nance.

Allena graduated from Sheldon High School. Then after graduation she happily married her high school sweetheart, Joseph Carlyn (J.C.) Brasher on August 21, 1965. Upon becoming a Naval wife, they moved to San Diego, CA, where she experienced many new and exciting adventures. In 1968, they returned to the Sheldon/Jerico Springs, MO, area where they raised three children. This year J.C. and Allena would have been celebrating 54 wonderful years together.

For many years, Allena worked at Dunbrooke Shirt Factory in El Dorado Springs, MO. Something dear to her heart was her time working as a student aide at Lamar Elementary School. Allena was also a remarkable and humble seamstress who crafted her love into many beautiful garments including numerous wedding gowns.

From an early age, Allena's faith was an important part of her life. As a young girl, she professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Allena purposed to instill these beliefs into her children and grandchildren, ensuring they knew they were loved by God and her.

Some of Allena's fondest moments were spent hosting family holidays and get togethers, which lead to her and her family laughing around the table playing games. Allena and J.C.'s special times together included riding around checking cows and working the farm.

Welcoming Allena in heaven are both of her parents; youngest brother, Leroy Nance; oldest brother, Gene Nance; and father-in-law, Guy Brasher; mother-in-law, Grace Brasher; sister-in-laws, Meribel Jones and Helen Brasher.

Allena is survived by her husband, J.C. Brasher of Sheldon, MO; son, Joseph Brasher and wife Karen of Bolivar, MO; daughter, Tammy Melton and husband Scott of El Dorado Springs, MO; son, Benjamin Brasher and wife Bethany of Elkton, VA; her grandchildren: Katie Nikodim and husband Matt; Johnathan Brasher and wife Amanda; Gregory Brasher; Laura Stovall and husband Kris; Mallory Melton; Megan Hunter and husband Austin; Makenzie Melton; and Reuben Brasher; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Allena Brasher will be held on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Randy Handley and Stan Vilhauer officiating. Music will be provided by Tracy Dawn Davis. Burial will follow in Brasher Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Johnathan Brasher, Gregory Brasher, Kris Stovall, Matt Nikodim, Austin Hunter, and Richard Nance.
