Dean Ray Coleman, age 88, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, December 23, 2018. Dean was born November 25, 1930, to Ben and Zoe (Carriker) Coleman in the Riverview Community.
Dean married Gladys Yockey on February 25, 1949. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage in February. To this union two daughters were born.
From a young age, Dean was very dedicated to assisting with the care of his siblings. From childhood, he toiled alongside his father to help support the family. This involved shucking corn, cutting wood, and any necessary chores. He worked at the International Shoe Company and Barrington for over forty years.
Dean was saved, sanctified, and baptized and lived a very dedicated Christian life. He faithfully attended church and gave of himself in supporting the church.
Some of the things Dean most enjoyed were spending time with family, coon hunting, deer hunting, spending time in his garage, and tending to his familiesí needs. He was a friend to anyone in need.
Preceding Dean in death were an infant sister; one brother, Paul; one sister, Doris; and his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of the home; two daughters, Deborah Sewell and husband, Kenneth, of El Dorado Springs, and LaDonna Forsythe and husband, Terry, of El Dorado Springs; grandchildren Chris of Nevada, MO, and Roxana of El Dorado Springs; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, McKayla, and Allison.
Dean will be greatly loved and will be extremely missed.
Funeral services for Dean Coleman were held on Friday, December 28, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Bro. Noel Scott officiating. Interment followed at Love Cemetery. Music was provided by Mike Jamison.
Pallbearers were Chris Forsythe, Hunter Jacobs, Jodie Eldridge, Colby Wood, Shawn McCullick, and David Coleman.
