Betty Lou (Cox) Wheeler, age 74, of Walker, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September, 11, 2017. She was born April 10, 1943, in Sheldon, Missouri, the daughter of Rosalee Kirby and Mondell Cox.
Betty married Thomas E. Wheeler on August 9, 1958. They were married for fifty-nine years. She had four children: Debbie Spoonemore, Jim Wheeler, Tammy Kaylor, and Jerry Wheeler. She lived in Denver, CO, and raised her children there until they were teenagers. She worked as a pre-school teacher for twenty-two years and moved back to Missouri when she retired.
Betty loved traveling to different places. She loved flowers and feeding her birds and bunnies. She loved going back to Denver to see her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Betty was a great mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Preceding Betty in death were her parents and son Jerry Wheeler.
Survivors include her husband Tom, of the home; children: Jimmy Wheeler of Denver, CO, Tammy Kaylor and husband Larry of Bolivar, MO, and Debbie Spoonemore and husband Tom of Denver, CO; grandchildren: Jeremy Wheeler, David Adam Schafroth, and James H. Wheeler; great-grandchildren: Savanah Schafroth, Lylah Schafroth, and Trey M. Wheeler; siblings: Linda Hoechan, Jim Kirby, Bobby Kirby, and Cookie Greenstreet.
Funeral services for Betty Lou Wheeler were held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at 2:00 p.m at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Interment followed at Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
