Nicholas Wynn Smith, age 47, of El Dorado Springs, passed away suddenly from natural causes on Friday morning, March 31, 2017. Nick was born Friday morning, August 29, 1969, in Worthington, Minnesota. His parents are Gary C. and Penny Smith.
Nick was a Christian and believed in God. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church. Nick attended school in Minnesota until his junior year in high school when the family moved to El Dorado Springs. Nick was a drummer in the EHS band and graduated in 1987. He then went on to attend SMSU for a year but left that to travel. He worked various jobs in CA, AZ, and Kansas City. Since 2003 he resided with his parents. Nick was a hard worker, reliable and resourceful on the job or around the home. He was a great cook and could grill a steak perfectly. Nick always looked forward to visits from his grandchildren. He loved spending time playing and relaxing with them. They made him laugh and smile as only children can. Family meant a lot to Nick and he loved them with all his heart.
Preceding Nick in death were his grandparents and an uncle.
Survivors include his parents; brothers Benjamin and wife Melanie, of Houston, TX, and Zachary of St. Louis, MO: his daughter Erica (Wooldridge) Mott, and husband Brice of El Dorado Springs, MO; his grandchildren, Madison Mae Mott and Corbin Stansell Mott; and niece, Genevieve Smith; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services for Nick Smith will be held at Bland-Hackleman Chapel on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
