Georgia Mae Dodd, better known as “Pat,” age 89, of rural Jerico Springs, MO, passed away at El Dorado Springs Residential Care Facility on Friday, January 20, 2017. Pat was born October 2, 1927, in Shenandoah, Iowa and was raised there until graduating high school.
Pat moved to Greenfield, MO, and worked in the office for a tractor dealership for several years. While there she married Homer Dodd. Their son Melvin was born April, 1950. Shortly after the birth of Melvin, they moved to Parsons, KS, where Pat worked at an ammunition factory. They saved their money for the next couple years to buy a hay baler and moved back home to harm. Pat lived on the farm taking care of her family and cooking for ten hired hands.
Later in years Pat moved to Springfield, where she worked for Masterbuilders as the traffic manager for fifteen years, before taking an early retirement. During her years of retirement she loved spending time with her grandson going to watch movies and out to eat.
In 2007 Pat moved to Jerico Springs to be closer to her son and grandson. She loved being with her family, enjoying good meals and conversation with them. Above all things her family was most important to her. Pat gained many good friends throughout the years and many new friends during her stay at the care facility. She was always grateful for the things others did for her. She loved to laugh and to make others laugh as well.
Preceding Pat in death were her mother, Myrtle Wilson and many aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her son, Melvin Dodd; grandson, Steven Dodd and wife Jessica; and one sister, Carol Roy and husband, Rex.
