Obituary
Thelma I. Hulett, age 96, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away February 20, 2016, at Community Springs Healthcare. She was born March 27, 1919, near Trask, MO, the daughter of Warren M. and Verla (Gregory) Murrell.

Thelma moved to the El Dorado Springs area around 1947. She cooked hot lunches for the little one room school house at Bowling Green. She worked at the International Shoe Factory for twenty-five years. After breaking both of her arms, she had to retire in 1981.

At the Speedwell Baptist Church she taught the kindergarten and preschool children for many years. She loved all of the children there and always considered them to be “her kids”.

Thelma had a “green thumb”; plants flourished under her care no matter what state of health they were in when they were given to her. She enjoyed her plants and digging in the dirt; it was therapeutic for her. She loved trying to find a plant she didn’t already have.

She enjoyed her animals which include peacocks, a cockatiel, cats and dog.

Preceding her in death were her husband, William “Bill” Hulett; her parents, Warren and Verla Murrell; brothers: Kenneth Murrell, Howard Murrell, and Ronald Dee; children: Elmo Woolford, infant daughter, Wilma, and infant son, Jimmy; grandsons: Alvin Woolford, Armondo De la Rosa, Jared Daniel Gray, and William Clayton Gray; and great-grandchildren: Brian Stafford, Travis Stafford, and Tessa Stafford.

She is survived by two sons: Gerald Woolford of Pleasant Hill, MO, and Bill Woolford of Brighton, MO; three daughters: Wilda Carnell of Bellevue, WA, Darlene Thresher of Newburgh, IN, and Betty (Richard) Wood of El Dorado Springs, MO; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Leroy (Francis) Murrell, Gale Murrell, and George Murrell; two sisters: Bernadine Gaddy and Shirley (Junior) Coleman; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Thelma Hulett will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Rev. Brent Bland will officiate. Burial will follow in Clintonville Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are: Alex Woolford, Kevin Woolford, Greg Woolford, David Thresher, Randall Wood, and Craig Wood.
