Edith Arvilla (Ginter) Bratcher, age 88, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away November 15, 2015. Edith was born September 5, 1927, in Rockville, Missouri, to Aubrey Ginter and Birdie Myrl (Blender) Ginter. As a child, she lived in Rockville, Johnson City, and Appleton City. She had rheumatic fever at age ten and was confined at home for a year.
Edith married Joseph C. Bratcher, Jr., on October 6, 1945, in Liberty, Mo. Joe died unexpectedly on October 2, 1969. She and Joe lived in the Kansas City area, where she worked in the garment industry. They had a stillborn daughter, named Shirley Ann Bratcher, on October 8, 1948.
She was married to Sidney Allen from January 23, 1971, until his death. She and Sid lived on a farm east of El Dorado Springs.
She loved the outdoors, particularly walking in the woods, tending to her yard, and feeding birds. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and visiting with friends.
Funeral services for Edith Bratcher will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Norval officiating. Burial will follow in Appleton City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
