Edna Mildred (Jones) Gant, age 102, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away March 30, 2011. She was born January 9, 1909, to Alvaro and Lizzie Jones in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
Edna attended and graduated high school in 1928 at Big Four High School in Kingfisher. In 1932 she married Cleo Gant. To this union three sons were born: Gene, Norman, and Wayne Allen. After Cleo’s death she married Jesse Stutesman, and after his passing she married Charles Headlee. She affiliated with the Methodist church and was baptized at an early age. Edna was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed dancing, gardening and flowers.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three husbands: Cleo Gant, Jesse Stutesman, and Charles Headlee; two sons: Gene and Wayne Allen; a sister, Neva; a brother, Elmo; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy.
Survivors include one son, Norman and wife Annie, of El Dorado Springs, MO; seven grandchildren: Dennis Gant, Darrell Gant and wife Katy, Debra Smith and husband Bob, Dale Gant and wife Susan, Sheila Rieken and husband Larry, Jerry Gant and wife Annie, and Gale McBeth; a host of great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Edna Headlee were held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Chapel with Robert Newberry officiating. Rusty Carver provided music. Interment was Monday, April 4, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Kingfisher Cemetery in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
