Judy Kay (Darnell) Parrish, age 72, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away at Cox Health Hospital in Springfield, MO, in the early morning hours of April 9, 2015. Judy was born March 18, 1943, in El Dorado Springs, MO, the daughter of Wanda Mariel (McWilliams) Darnell and Melvin A. Darnell. She attended most of her schooling in Kansas City, MO, due to her dad being active in the Army.
Judy married Jim Parrish on September 23, 1978. To this union one child was born: Amanda Errin Parrish.
Judy loved life and family. She was a caregiver to her mother and father from an early age. She was a believer and attended church at the Church of Christ as long as her health allowed.
Judy loved reading, knitting, sewing, fishing and listening to football and baseball games on the radio. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family and especially her two grandchildren, who were the love of her life.
Preceding her in death were: her parents; an older brother, Gary K. Darnell; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jean (Rhodes) Darnell; a niece, Wendy Elizabeth (Darnell) Smither; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins over the years.
Survivors include: a daughter, Amanda E. Hunt; two grandchildren, Aiden Danielle Hunt and Darian Dale Hunt, all of El Dorado Springs; one step-grand darling; a very special nephew, Clint K. Darnell and his wife Laura and their two children, Zoe Elizabeth and Jenna Grace, all of Kansas City, MO; and numerous other cousins.
Graveside services for Judy Parrish will be held at Mound Cemetery on April 14, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with Mike Pace officiating. There will be a balloon release to honor and celebrate her life. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
