Minnie Allene (Hunt) Nance, age 94, of Friendswood, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. She was saved and baptized in 1930 at the age of ten at Walnut Baptist Church in Walnut, KS. She was a member of Odense Baptist Church in Odense, KS.
Minnie was born in Spring City, MO, to William Thomas Franklin Hunt and Corda Viola (Riggle) Hunt on April 19, 1920, the youngest of eleven children. On May 20, 1939, in Girard, KS, she married Clint Milton Nance (deceased Februaby 20, 1996). To this union seven children were born: five sons and two daughters.
After living in Kansas and Iowa, they moved to Sheldon, MO, in 1963, and then retired to El Dorado Springs in 1982. For the last twelve years Minnie has lived with her youngest daughter in Texas.
Preceding her in death, besides her spouse (Clint) of 57 years, were: her parents; six sisters; four brothers; one son, Leroy Nance; one granddaughter, Rita Nance; and one great-grandson, Jeremiah Broadwell.
Survivors include her children: Clinton “Gene” Nance and wife Marge of Parsons, KS; Charles “Bud” Nance and wife Sandy of Sheldon, MO; Donald Nance and wife Margie of Clinton, IA; Allena “Sissy” ( Nance) Brasher and husband J.C. of Sheldon, MO; Thomas Nance and wife Thu of Jerico Springs, MO; and Cindy (Nance) Goodwin and husband Jim of Friendswood, TX; 24 grandchildren: Vickie (Nance) Broadwell; Arra (Nance) Whitley; Rose (Nance) Martin; Mary Jo (Nance) Fitzwater; Robert Nance; Sally (Nance) Robison; Richard Nance; Teresa Nance, Jacob Nance; Debbie (Nance) Rawlings; Bill Nance; Troy Nance, David Nance, Donna (Nance) Hines; Joe Brasher; Tammy (Brasher) Melton; Ben Brasher; Tim Nance; Tina (Nance) Sietz; Ted Nance, Tabitha (Nance) Taylor, Michelle (Nance) Byrnes; Zack Nance; and Clint Goodwin; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, step great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Minnie Nance were held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs, MO, with Rev. Brent Bland officiating. Burial followed in Brasher Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Robert Nance, Richard Nance, Jacob Nance, Bill Nance, Troy Nance, David Nance, Tim Nance, Ted Nance, Zack Nance, Ben Brasher, Joe Brasher, and Clint Goodwin.
