Raymond E. Cobb, Jr., age 63, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away at his home Thursday, October 9, 2014. He was born in Jackson County, Missouri, on January 19, 1951, the son of Raymond E. Cobb, Sr. and Nellie (Lawrence) Cobb.
In his youth, Ray was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he attained their highest ranking of Eagle Scout. He attended high school in Kansas City, MO. Ray was baptized January 20, 1957, at the Gashland Methodist Church in Gashland, MO.
Ray followed in his dadís steps of being a concrete finisher and later a truck driver. He also worked on his own as an excavator.
Ray enjoyed life to its fullest. He enjoyed hunting, golf, softball, fishing, Nascar and a good laugh with his friends. He was an active member of Tri Lakes Eagles #4279 and participated in many activities and benefits held there. He had a generous nature and was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Pearson. He is survived by his friend and long-time companion, Carolyn McPeak of the home; a nephew, Dan Pearson of Belton, MO; and many cousins.
A memorial service for Raymond E. Cobb, Jr. was held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Daniels officiated and Tri Lakes Eagles #4279 provided a memorial tribute. Final disposition was cremation under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
