Obituary
Richard Erick Braton, age 78, of Osceola, Missouri, passed away on June 30, 2014, at his home, where he had been struggling with liver cancer. He was born on January 8, 1936, to Leonard and Anna Braton.

Richard began working at an early age at Safeway as a bag sacker, working his way up to manager. He worked for Safeway for 39 years in and around the Kansas City area. Richard and Vickie (his wife of 28 years) owned a convenience store called D & V Deli Mart in Liberty, MO, for nine years. Richard retired to the Osceola countryside in 1995. He started doing woodworking, a passion his father handed down to him. He built the furniture in the house, cradles, and odds and ends for the grandchildren. He enjoyed sitting out on the front deck he built, waving and watching the farm equipment go by.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sister Elsie Johns; and his best friend Lee Trible.

Survivors include his wife Vickie of the home; his brother Stan Braton of Kerrsville, TX; his son Paul and wife Janet of Olathe, KS; his daughter Lisa and husband Deric of Cranberry, PA; his son Chad of Olathe, KS; his stepson Steve Marley and wife Beth of Liberty, MO; his stepson Terry Marley of Liberty, MO; six grandchildren: Ryan, Jeremy, Rachel, Kendall, Cliff and Clint; and two step-grandchildren: Logan and Evan.

Richardís last wishes were to be cremated with no services.
