Irma Jean Pickell, age 88, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away May 22, 2014, at Emeritus Senior Living in Tulsa, OK. She was born in El Dorado Springs, MO, August 11, 1925, to Howard and Gladys (Thrush) King.
Irma Jean graduated from El Dorado Springs High School and later married Foster Ray Pickell on December 24, 1943. They were members of Park Street Christian Church.
Over a period of several years, Irma Jean worked as a secretary for the school office, Tri-County Bank, and Dr. Magee. She was active in the community and played in the El Dorado Springs Municipal Band for over 50 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Ray Pickell, her grandson Mathew Pickell, and her son-in-law Mike Baker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Diana Baker of Kansas City, MO; one son, Mark Pickell and wife Cindy of Tulsa, OK; one grandson Parrish Baker and wife Bonnie of Kansas City, MO; two great-grandchildren: Sparrow and Flynn; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Irma Jean Pickell will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Park Street Christian Church in El Dorado Springs. Pastor Larry Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be: Gary Hardison, Tim Carter, Scott Watkins, Ken Wood, Steve Banks, and Elbert Biddlecome.
