Obituary
Ruby Leona Vann, age 94, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away Monday, September 16, 2013. She was born on March 23, 1919, to Wilbur Lesley Roby and Bertha Evelina (Tabor) Roby in Adrian, MO.

After finishing school, Ruby went to work for Trwehughs Aircraft and Quantrad in El Segundo, CA. On May 16, 1937, she married Lewis Vann in Las Angeles, CA. To this marriage two sons were born: Robert Lewis Vann and Lonnie Ray Vann.

Ruby liked to sew and go to casinos. She especially loved traveling with her sisters to Las Vegas and other places of interest.

She moved from Hawthorne, CA to El Dorado Springs in 1979. She really enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Preceding Ruby in death were her husband Lewis; two sisters: Elizabeth “Betty” Johnson and Seleta Roberts; and two brothers: George Roby and James “Jack” Roby; and grandson-in-law Willard Solomon.

Survivors include two sons: Robert Vann and wife Jolene of Thousand Oaks, CA and Lonnie Vann of El Dorado Springs, MO; one sister Waneta Hardman and husband Jack of Blue Springs, MO; four grandchildren Robert Vann of California, Nina Berning and husband Rick of El Dorado Springs, MO; Ruby Britton and husband Jim of New York, and Judy Garner of California; also surviving are numerous great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services for Ruby Vann will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home with Pastor Jack Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at the El Dorado City Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Andrew Miller, Rick Berning, Clyde Wallace, Jerry Hardman, Don Griffey, and Andy Newton.
