Cena (Thomas) Jones, age 90, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Cena was born on September 22, 1921, in Erick, Oklahoma. Her parents were Jesse and Ella Thomas of Erick, Oklahoma.
Cena attended Erick High School and graduated in 1939. Cena was employed by Every Home for Christ for numerous years. She loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart, and attended the North Hollywood Church of the Nazarene in her younger years in California. She moved to Missouri in her later years and attended the Church of God (Holiness), until she was unable to. She enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles, and loved playing Scrabble and Skipbo.
Preceding Cena in death were her husband, Paul Jones; daughter, Carolyn Jones; sister, Nellie (Thomas) Harkins; and brothers, Albert Thomas and Jesse Thomas. She is survived by her son, Doyle Jones and his wife, Betty, of California City, California; sisters, Faye Jones of Elk City, Oklahoma, and Alice Manning of California; grandchildren, Steve Stiers and his wife, Lorie, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; Sheri Sasaki, of Simi Valley, California; Joey Bernal, of Fresno, California; Jeff Bernal, of Fresno, California; Monica Duquenne and her husband, Dennis, of San Clemente, California; Danny Jones and his wife, Joann, of North Hollywood, California; Jerry Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Cindy Ross and her husband, Charles, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Her great-grandchildren include: Steven and Paul Stiers, Tawni and Cami Sasaki, Michelle Bernal, Nick and Danielle Jones, Monique Stewart, Renee Pugh, and Ryan and Nick Raddatz. She is also survived by numerous other family members.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, with Pastor Joe Trussell officiating. Music was provided by Steven Stiers and the Greathouse family. Burial followed in the El Dorado City Cemetery, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: Steve Stiers, Steven Stiers, Larry Mauck, Joe Trussell, Charles Ross, and Randy E. Bland.
