Alma Lemyra “Bobbi” Engle, age 86, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital.
Lemyra was born on February 11, 1926 to Linsey and Iola (Hickey) Jones. She graduated from Lockwood High School. She was very talented in music and enjoyed it very much. She attended college in Springfield, MO, for some time. She taught in rural schools for two years. She worked for the FBI in Washington, DC, for a time. After that she worked for International Harvester in Springfield, MO. She went to Kansas City, MO, and worked for many years. She finished college while working for Royal Globe Insurance Company where she retired as an executive secretary.
Lemyra married Hank Engle in June of 1971. He passed away in 1993. She enjoyed life, did a lot of exciting things, and did a lot of traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hank, her parents, and two sisters: Lida Mae Sewell and Alene Elizabeth Jones.
Lemyra is survived by one nephew Linsey Eckert and wife Suzie, one niece Mary Ann Rutledge and husband Dwain, nine great nieces and nephews, nine great-great nephews, seven great-great-great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service for Alma Lemyra Engle will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Park Street Christian Church, in El Dorado Springs, MO, with Larry Daniel officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
