Leonard Leroy Snodgrass, age 82, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away November 23, 2010, at Cedar County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 1, 1928, in Toddville, Iowa, to Fay and Agnes (Hadoc) Snodgrass.
Leonard married Grace Baskett and to this union five children were born: Jim, Mike, Cathie, Carol and Darin. Later he married Marlisse Shelton and to this union one son was born: Timothy.
For twenty years Leonard worked as a sheet metal worker, including many large buildings in Iowa and California.
Leonard gave his heart to the Lord at the age of twelve and received the Holy Spirit at age twenty. His first love was teaching children at Sunday School and on Wednesday night mid-week service. His second love was farming and his cows. He enjoyed all the animals on his farm. When he was young he helped farm with a horse and plow.
Preceding him in death were his parents Fay and Agnes Snodgrass; one brother; two sisters; two sons; and two daughters.
Survivors include: his wife Marlisse of the home; one sister Nyla Ray and husband Lonnie of Priest River, Idaho; two sons: Mike Snodgrass and wife Phyllis of Mooresville, Indiana, and Timothy Snodgrass of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; two step-children: Tony Shelton and wife Angela of Wasilla, Alaska, and Richard Shelton of Fayetteville, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services for Leonard Snodgrass were held on Friday, November 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the El Dorado Springs Assembly of God Church. Pastor Dana Taylor officiated and Angela Shelton provided music.
