Jack Dean Houston, Jr., age 48, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, much loved son, brother, and uncle, passed away December 6, 2011, at the Cedar County Memorial Hospital. Jack was born February 2, 1963, in Springfield, Missouri, to Jack and Judy Houston.
By profession, Jack was a school teacher, but his greatest passion was his nieces and nephews. Sometimes life was very difficult for Jack, but he always persevered.
Jack loved the ocean and Notre Dame. Notre Dame Football was a great passion for him.
There to welcome Jack in heaven were his much loved mother, Judy, and his grandparents.
Survivors include: his father, Jack Sr. of the home; five sisters, Janice Madalon and husband Kent, Teresa Austene and husband Kevin, Kathleen Houston, Martha Dingerson, and Bernadette Heiner and husband Charles; and several much loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Jack Houston were held on Friday, December 9, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the El Dorado Springs St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Basil Doan officiating. Interment followed at 1:30 p.m. in Ozark Memorial Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri, under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Kevin Austene, Kyle Austene, Charles Heiner, and Randy Black. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Houston, Lyle King, Kent Madalon, Dave Black, Justin Dingerson, and Anthony Madalon.
